8 FREE HALLOWE’EN COMICS! | Halloween Comic Fest 2017 (CC)

Hey everyone, this is Miz Moffatt from Across
the Litoverse, and I’ve got a question for you: What could be better than Hallowe’en? You give up yet? How about FREE COMICS on Hallowe’en? Do stay tuned. I know it sounds too good to be true, but no, I am not joking. If you love comics, you most certainly know
about Free Comic Book Day which takes place on the first Saturday of May. But perhaps you didn’t know that your local
comic book store most likely hands out free comic books to
celebrate Hallowe’en. I can’t speak for all stores, but ours definitely
gets into the spirit of the season, and here are a few of the books
we’ll be handing out on All Hallows Eve. Junji Ito, Shiver: You haven’t read horror until you’ve read
the mind-melting, disturbingly detailed short stories of Junji
Ito. In December, Viz Media is releasing Shiver, a collection of Ito’s nine best short works as selected by Ito himself. If you can’t wait until December, this Hallowe’en
teaser should tide you over and leave you utterly
sleepless until then. Trust me on this one. Batman: Night of the Monster Men: The storm of the century is headed towards Gotham City, and not even Nightwing, Batwoman, or Batman
are prepared. Dr. Hugo Strange has released a rain of monsters
on the city, and they might just be too much for the Bat
fam to handle. This is a reprint of Batman Rebirth #7 which kicked off the Night of the Monster
Men crossover, and now it can be yours absolutely for free. Boom Box’s Some En-Haunted Evening: Liz Prince and Kat Leyh team up for a SPOOOKY
adventure featuring the Lumberjanes! The Lumberjanes gather around and dress up
to scare themselves silly with a mysterious dinner game featuring your
favourite Boom Studio characters. What more could you possibly need from Hallowe’en? Battle Angel Alita and Sailor Moon Eternal
Previews: So, this release is just to let you all know
how badass Kodansha Comics’ manga line up is going to be over
the next few months. Readers will get a sweet preview of the 35th
Anniversary Edition of Akira, the deluxe edition of Battle Angel Alita, and Sailor Moon Eternal. Brush up on your manga classics this Hallowe’en, and prepare thy wallet for the official releases
coming soon. Hellboy and the BPRD 1953: I love the Hellboy franchise, and I love Mike Mignola’s work in general, and I can think of no better way to celebrate
Hallowe’en than reading two short stories set in this
world. Hellboy is continuing his journey across England, and he confronts two of the most horrible
figures in British folklore— Rawhead Rex and Bloody Bones. This is making me want to re-read The Amazing
Screw-On Head, now. DC Super Hero Girls Special Edition: I adore the DC Super Hero Girls, and this special Hallowe’en edition features
two stories from the upcoming graphic novel Past Times
at Super Hero High. After a time-machine mishap in their history
class, Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl,
and co. travel back in time— and history’s about to get up close and
personal! This one is great for all ages, and it features
some awesome lady power to boot! Lady Mechanika La Dama de la Muerte: I’ve always been intrigued by Lady Mechanika’s
brand of steampunk, and a Hallowe’en special might just be the
introduction I need. After a tragic loss, Lady Mechanika takes
a trip to a small Mexican town right in time for their Dia de los Muertes
celebration. But the festivities turn truly deadly after the arrival of the mythical Hell Riders. That cover is spectacular, and I want to know
more. BabyTeeth #1: Sadie Ritter is sixteen, nine-months pregnant, and scared as all get out. She’s got the support of her family, so things should be just fine— Oh, except for the fact that her child is the
Antichrist and will break open the barriers between the
earthly and demonic planes and will unleash eternal suffering on all of
humankind. But, you know, totally cool… This book will give you a taste of Aftershock’s
biggest hit from this year, so you won’t want to miss out! There’s a quick taste of some of the free
comics that await you this Hallowe’en. Check in with your local comic book store to see if they’re participating as well, and you could walk away with some creepy new
comics as well. If you liked this video, make sure to give it a thumbs up to support
this channel. As always, thank you for watching, and make sure to subscribe for more videos
from Across the Litoverse. On that note, signing off. In DIS-tem – DIS-tember… Dis-TEM-ber…

  1. Can't wait for Shiver! Junji Ito is the creepiest! Lady Mechanika is amazing! Such beautiful artwork! I read issue 0 and 1 as eComics, but I've never been able to track down anymore. Is there a bound volume available?
